SENIOR ACCOUNT SUPERVISOR POSITION  

PORTLAND, OREGON

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Represents the agency with clients, communications community and in the business community
Oversees a variety of agency accounts and works to build internal teams that support client programs and projects
Has bottom-line accountability for all represented accounts and consistently creates high-quality work products
Provides strategic public relations, marketing, advertising, research, social media and digital communications  counsel to advance clients’ business goals and objectives (additional team members help develop strategic communications plans)
Develops strategic integrated plans and campaigns
Builds relationships with media and 3rd party influencers on behalf of the firm and its clients
Develops new business opportunities, including creating proposals and participating in new business presentations
Communicates relevant communications industry trends and stories to the account team and clients through online content, presentations and conversations
Coaches fellow team members by providing feedback and mentoring
Follows agency’s Guiding Principles and Philosophies, as well as assists in creating a highly functioning team  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS  

10-plus years of experience in communications, with recent experience in delivering integrated communications services, and has a bachelor’s degree in a related field
Successful track record of managing multiple clients and/or projects, and managing budgets
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills – AP and Chicago Manual of Style
Demonstrates problem solving and team building skills
Demonstrates a high level of integrity and ethics
Active member of the Portland Metro business community
Experience in any of the following industries is a plus: real estate, building, professional services, economic development, tourism or hospitality
Humor is a must

Bring your creative expertise to the following role:  

  • Provide senior level copywriting, message development and conceptualization for highly visible, innovative Sales, Marketing and Corporate messaging projects and advertising
  • Evaluate all submitted copy to ensure quality, brand integrity and appropriateness
  • Ensure smooth and timely delivery of all writing services to internal clients
  • Lead creative messaging strategy sessions for all major product launches and brand related campaigns and initiatives

Combine your degree and copywriting experience with the following skills and abilities:  

  • Four-year degree in Communications, English, Journalism and/or related field
  • 8-10 years of professional copywriting experience is required, specifically for business to business and corporate marketing programs; 5 years’ experience in agency environment as a creative writer or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Develop strong working relationships with other “partner” departments and groups (including, but not limited to: Member Services, Print Shop, Plan Sales, PDPM) to achieve the strongest possible brand impact on customers
  • Excellent relationship and matrix management skills and the ability to motivate and inspire clients, co-workers and peers
  • Strong knowledge base in Marketing concepts and strategies
  • Outstanding communicator with a pro-active enthusiastic approach
  • Operate under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional persuasive and advertising writing skills
  • Superior ability to write compelling content that effectively targets the intended audience.
  • Strong consulting, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Work independently and handle many project simultaneously – must be able to meet aggressive deadlines for creative-driven work
  • Excellent people skills and flexibility in dealing with changing schedules and multiple points of view
